Statue of Creativity

The Statue of Liberty (Liberty Enlightening the World; French: La Liberté éclairant le monde) is a colossal neoclassical sculpture on Liberty Island in New York Harbour in New York City, in the United States. The statue is an icon of freedom and of the United States, and was a welcoming sight to immigrants arriving from abroad.

De Wilde’s Statue of Creativity is as much a critique as it is a playful comment on the current political regime in the United States under President Trump. The sculpture is made with open source 3d models of the Statue of Liberty, 3d models of drones, Facebook likes, etc., where the Statue of Liberty (female) is hidden behind a ‘wall’ of social media, war (rhetorics), and so on.
