Constellation – Tracing Stars is a project that merges art, design and technology with science, and more specifically astronomy and cosmology. 
The project is work-in-progress and investigates the movement, position and life of stars, the distances between stars, the constellations they form and the ‘invisible’ geometries they create.

The project explores data sets from ScienceHackDay with in situ observations and other acquired data sets.

Custom software is developed to visualise in 3D relevant data sets. The data will be renderend into 3D printable objects.

In addition the project will examine, and potentially fuse, old (astronomical) technologies with new technologies like 3D printing.

The sculptures can be produced in different materials and sizes, e.g. copper, nickel, chrome, silver and gold (non-exhaustive list). Each material is de facto a limited edition.
